Back to the Grind

Here’s hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas, or if you’re not of that persuasion, that you managed to score a sweet four-day weekend.

Having just graduated from college in May, this is the very first time I’m not getting two weeks off at the end of the year. I was dreading it all month and figured it would feel strange to be in the office the day after Christmas, but I can’t imagine what else I’d be doing today. A three-day work week this and next week is most definitely welcome.

Yesterday I scored a wad of cash from Lazy Claus and played Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 with my cousins all day. It was the very first time I’d play either but to say that I totally own “Maps,” “In Bloom,” “Say It Ain’t So,” and “Paint It Black” wouldn’t be that inaccurate. No need to mention it was all on the Medium setting, or maybe Easy once or twice… Whatever, I totally want Rock Band. In somewhat exciting and embarrassing news, my little sister recognizes my Gossip Girl obsession and got me the prequel book to the series. I’ve never read any of them, but I’m kind of excited because that’s who I am. Sigh.
